Editor’s Note: In this edition of Ohio Contractor magazine, we continue to provide valuable insight into the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) bidding activity and the role OCA members play in delivering transportation infrastructure projects across the state.
For State Fiscal Year 2027 (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027), ODOT reported 79 awarded projects totaling $173.3 million between June 1 and September 17, 2026. Of those awards, 68.9% of projects were awarded to OCA member contractors, representing an impressive 77.1% of total awarded dollars.
The accompanying charts provide a closer look at bidding activity across Ohio’s 12 ODOT districts, including the number of projects awarded, total contract values, and the distribution of awards between OCA member and non-member firms. This information offers a broader perspective on how ODOT’s construction program is progressing and highlights the significant contributions of OCA members.
While OCA members continue to secure the majority of ODOT’s awarded construction dollars, opportunities remain to strengthen our industry’s collective voice. We encourage members to share the value of OCA membership with fellow contractors who have yet to join. A stronger membership means greater representation, more influence with decision-makers, and continued support for the businesses and professionals who build Ohio’s transportation infrastructure.
