Chapter: Dayton
Name: Dennis I. Goecke II
Company: Ernst Concrete Company
Position: Corporate Sales Representative
In his second year as a chapter chair, Dennis Goecke admits to having reached another level leading the Dayton Chapter.
“Now that I have a good grounding with this group, I have a better understanding of some of the industry’s issues that the association is up against,” said Goecke, who is the Corporate Sales Representative for Ernst Concrete Company.
Goecke joined the company as a concrete mixer driver for its Valley Division, and for 15 years was a sales representative before stepping into his current position in 2019.
Ironically, Goecke, who earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Wright State University, said it is the “education” he and fellow members receive as OCA members that he labels a benefit and inspires his activeness in the association. “Through education and clarifying the industry standards with its improvements and changes, our members can get a lot of answers and navigational help as this industry constantly changes …,” he said.
It is that navigation, or guidance, Goecke is bringing to his chapter – which he has been heavily involved with for six years.
Along with the traditional activities of forecasting nights, jobsite visits and social activities, Goecke is eager to talk about the Dayton Chapter’s work in 2025 with a youth sports organization. “This year I am excited to announce we have completed our first Community Service Project in the last couple of years,” said the 23-year industry veteran. “We were able to provide four, two-spot handicap parking spots for the Beavercreek Soccer Club. This is going to provide better access for spectators that have handicap needs when supporting the field events and tournaments.”
It’s apparent the enthusiasm among chapter members and their chair feed off one another. Asked about his favorite aspect of chapter involvement, Goecke said, “The people – and how much they all want to work together for a common goal …”
In turn, that inspires Goecke, who said, “As I understand, I will be serving two to three years as chapter chair; one down and one to two more to go!”
