OCA Chapter Chairperson Profile: Chris Carry

Chapter: Toledo

Name: Chris Carry

Company: Mosser Construction Company

Position: Director, Heavy Civil Division

Four words describe the connection Chris Carry has with OCA, an organization he is devoting time to this year as Toledo Chapter Chair.

When the Mosser Construction Company Heavy Civil Division Director mentions “community and shared purpose” as his favorite aspect of OCA chapter involvement, he is also sharing personal insight.

“My favorite aspect of being an OCA chapter member is the sense of community and shared purpose,” said the Attica and North Central Ohio native. “Whether it’s working on a service project, attending an event, or just connecting with others in the industry, there’s a strong commitment to supporting one another and moving the industry forward. It’s a group where people genuinely care – not just about the work, but about making a positive impact beyond the jobsite. That mix of professionalism and purpose is what makes it so rewarding.”

A more than seven-year veteran of Mosser Construction, Carry is a graduate of Ohio Northern University, where he graduated with a civil engineering degree.

Growing up on the same Seneca County farm he returned to live with his family in 2019, Carry said his upbringing helped determine his career. “Growing up on a farm, I was always around heavy equipment, and dealing with everyday challenges became second nature – and honestly, something I enjoyed,” he said. “What really drew me to this profession is the teamwork involved. I appreciate being part of a group that pulls together, no matter how tough the situation gets. That sense of shared purpose and problem-solving is what keeps me passionate about the work.”

Carry shares that same hard-work-and-teamwork ethic beyond Mosser Construction, as he has coached youth basketball and currently coaches high school track. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was formerly active in the Perrysburg Planning Commission and Toledo Society of Professional Engineers.

Finding out that being active in OCA’s local chapters is “a great way to stay connected with others in the industry while giving back to the community,” Carry has served as Toledo Chapter’s Community Service Chair.

As chapter chair, he is ensuring a strong commitment to community service continues. This year, the chapter has again partnered with several area organizations. “We’ve also seen strong participation in our networking events and educational sessions, which have helped strengthen connections across the industry.”
