U.S. Congressional Staff Tours Kokosing Joint Venture Project

More than 50 U.S. House and Senate staffers recently toured the Kokosing-McLean Contracting Joint Venture project on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Annapolis, Md. Sponsored by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), the October 2 tour of the $140-million project was an effort to spotlight the value of transportation investment.

In addition to the tour, Kokosing Regional Senior Vice President Greg Hamilton provided a project overview, and ARTBA Chief Economist Dr. Alison Premo Black shared a progress report on the implementation of the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA)/Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).

The Transportation Authority project, owned and operated by the Maryland Transportation Authority, involves replacing eastbound concrete decks with pre-cast sections fabricated off-site, barrier upgrades, structural rehabilitation of the steel superstructure, lane-use signal gantry replacements, utility relocations, and off-site stormwater management.
